Multivariate data analysis
If we want to measure one feature, we optimise our analytical method for that specific target and get a figure corresponding to the information that we wish to obtain. However, only one figure is sometimes not sufficient. More complex characteristics, such as biological states, can better be described by a combination of several parameters, a multiple of variables. Multivariate data analysis methods can help us to find what combination of variables that is characterising a specific state. For example, at KBC we want to find combinations of protein concentrations characterizing a medical state. In this work, multivariate data analysis methods are mandatory.
A basic description of multivariate analysis is found here.
